A Series of Holidays – Tuesday, 12-15.5.2009

The Mirror, Vol. 13, No. 612

According to a list of public holidays for the Calendar Year of 2009, published by the Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, the following public holidays are celebrated during the present week:

  • 12 May 2009: Royal Plowing Ceremony
  • 13, 14, and 15 May 2009: King Norodom Sihamoni’s Birthday

The next publication of the Mirror is therefore scheduled for Saturday, 16 May 2009.

These holidays without new publicatins may provide an opportiunity to re-read, or read for the first time, the editorial of last Sunday, 10.5.2009: “Media, Dialogue, and Mutual Understanding.”

The editorial was written when I did not yet know that we would have a text translation on Monday, 11.5.2009, dealing with similar concerns in Cambodia: Opposition Party and Civil Society Call the Present Freedom of Khmer Citizens to Be Like the Freedom of Baby Chicken in a Fox’s Cage.

Have a look at the last editorial every week – you can access it directly from the main page of the Mirror.
